Cayce, “If ye, then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?” The Saviour was talking to His disciples. He was not talking to unregenerate sinners, trying to get them to ask for the Holy Spirit. As He was talking to His disciples, those who were already children of God, He was, therefore, talking to people who were already in possession of the Holy Spirit in the sense of regeneration. God’s children may, therefore, approach the throne of grace and ask the Father for the manifest presence of the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, direct and influence them in the right way, and to sustain them in sorrows and distresses.
