1st PETER 2 vs 8

PETER, 1st, 2:8, C. H. Cayce “And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.” We suppose the clause, “whereunto also they were appointed,” is what he desires our opinion upon. The real meaning of the text is that they who were disobedient were appointed to stumble at the word. God’s appointment is that those who are disobedient, in a state of unregeneracy, stumble at the word. The Primitive Baptist, December 8, 1914.
